We could increase the amount of nuclear power generation in the UK. If we built an additional 11 nuclear power stations we could completely eliminate fossil fuel energy generation. What would be the advantages and disadvantages of doing so and is this a realistic suggestion?

Nuclear power will always be unpopular due to the inherent risks associated with this technology.
Witness three mile island, Fykashima and Chernobil. It is often ignored that prior to the two accidents
in Japan and Russia, the 2nd worse accident in the world was in the Uk at Sellafield.

For me greater concern id how we clean and dispose of the used parts and by products.
What are the safe options.

Look at Fort Halstead, home to the first reactors in England, soon to be re built as houses for families.
